Rainbow Sighting! Slice 2013: 3 of 31

Slice of Life is sponsored every Tuesday by Stacey and Ruth from Two Writing Teachers.
For the month of March we are challenging ourselves to write a slice every day.

Rainbows never fail to delight me.  I captured this one last week when I got off the bus. So glad it hung around long enough for me to snap a picture!
I slowed down enough today to capture my thoughts in this acrostic.
Rarely seen, but
Always a delight!
I cherish each sighting of
New colors arranged as a
Beautiful reminder to slow down from
One who wants us to savor the sun
While embracing the rain.

  1. How beautiful! A rainbow is a magnificent sight - no matter where or when one sees it.

  2. Love your words. Rarely seen but always a delight! How true. your words captured the feeling so many of us have as we stop to observe a rainbow.

  3. I like the idea of enhancing what we write with photos. I find myself snapping pictures all day long now. I think it makes me pay attention more. This is lovely!

  4. Lovely! I enjoy capturing images with my phone camera... I love how it is always with me. Then I can go back and capture the words later... So thankful for this tool.

  5. "Savor the sun while embracing the rain" is so perfect. This was a great example of an acrostic. I hope you don't mind if I pin it to my mentor text board.

  7. Your poem is lovely and stands on its own - the fact that it's an acrostic is like a little surprise revealed at the end.
