Wait Time! Slice 2013: 4 of 31

Slice of Life is sponsored every Tuesday by Stacey and Ruth from
Two Writing Teachers.  For the month of March we are challenging ourselves to write a slice every day.

I'm at the hospital this morning waiting while hubby has a procedure.  If you're over fifty, then you know why he's here.  The prep is worse than the actual procedure!  He glanced into my bag as he dropped in his phone, wallet, and keys, "Looks like you're planning to be here all day."
My reply, "I wait best with many options."

Want to know what's in my bag?
* My iPad (before I started writing this post)
* Hand cream
* Writer's notebook
* Yesterday's newspaper (too busy yesterday writing sub plans to read it)
* My wallet
* Clear pouch w/ Kleenex, highlighter, green Sharpie, ink pens (red, blue & purple), & sticky notes
* Plan book for school
* Current class novel
* Book order to be submitted to Scholastic
* Late folder w/ papers to grade
* Pad of paper
* Professional book - The Next Step in Vocabulary Instruction
* Book for adult book club, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, my very first Agatha Christie mystery
* 3 small pieces of chocolate

With so many delicious options, it's time to close this post and savor today's wait time!
Happy Monday!

  1. Yay for the chocolate! And the Agatha Christie novel. I can never understand people who show up for such wait times with nothing to read!

  2. Hopefully you will not exhaust all your choices before the procedure is over and you are back at home. You are smart to have all these options available. Enjoy Christie, once I started I had to read every one she wrote.

  3. You have your life in your bag. I just got a new one from D when he returned from Ecuador. It needs to be big. I hope hubby procedure went smoothly. xo

  4. This is funny -- your handbag is just like mine. I always carry with me about fifty different entertainment options, each one as important as the next, thinking they'll all get finished by day's end. Hopefully you accomplished a lot and everything went smoothly. :)

  5. Awesome ideas!! My post is about waiting today as well. You have given me some brilliant ideas of what to stash in my car as I face daily wait time. Thank you.

  6. Great preparation! I like the peek inside your bag. Hope you did the fun things first and kept those papers for later!

  7. I think you're bag is perfectly perfect. My purse is so heavy, but just today I needed my jar of vaseline that I randomly keep in there. You can never be too overly prepared.
