A quick pre-flight slice

Today I join my fellow bloggers in "serving up a slice"
to the Tuesday Slice of Life (SOL) community.
Thanks to Stacey, Tara, Betsy, Dana, Beth, and Anna
for hosting this meeting place each Tuesday
                                                      and nurturing our writing lives.

We are headed to the airport in a few minutes, so I'll fall back on a tried and true quick write.

CURRENTLY I'M . . .

Listening to the hum of the AC in our hotel room
Needing some chocolate tucked away in my bag.
Anticipating Sara's and Will's arrival in Seattle in three days
Dancing just knowing that Blake and Stefi are home from whirlwind China  trip
Hoping our hikes offset our three stops for New York ice cream
Reading books for two upcoming book clubs - Dish: How Gossip Became the News and the NewsBecame Just Another Show by Jeanette Walls and Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline
Longing for a copy of One For the Murphys to review before Thursday's book club with students - 3 different bookstores (2 independent) did not have it in stock!
Striving to stay cool at the prospect of 4+ hours in 2 airports (Syracuse & Chicago) and 6+ hours on 2 flights
Leaving the book I just finished (Gemini by Carol Cassella) so Sara has a good book to read on her flight
Loving the opportunity we had to visit Ithaca and celebrate Will's graduation with Sara!

Got the chocolate at the airport!

  1. So much going on. It's hard to believe that our brains keep all of that information organized for us, isn't it. Safe travels my friend!
