Slice of Life: A Quick Detour!

Today I join my fellow bloggers in "serving up a slice"
to the Tuesday Slice of Life (SOL) community.
Thanks to Stacey, Betsy, Dana, Beth, Kathleen, Deb, Lisa, and Melanie
for hosting this meeting place each Tuesday and nurturing our writing lives.

One of the best things about having my daughter live only twenty minutes away is meeting up on her day off.  Sometimes we go to lunch, sometimes we take a walk, sometimes we work on a project at my house, and sometimes we go to Costco.  Last week it was a Costco trip.  We met up at Sara's new place.  This was my first time to find it by myself since the move.   I wasn't navigating from the old place or riding with my daughter.  Google Maps took me an unusual way through a neighborhood where I spotted some beautiful trees.  I made a mental note to return that way and snap some pictures.  However when we left for Costco, I was following my daughter and so I missed out on that photo op.

As we neared the turn for Costco, I couldn't help but notice some striking fall color in a car dealership parking lot to my right.  So approximately one hour later, I find myself in the lane headed toward the dealership for some tree pics. My daughter pulls up beside me with a puzzled look on her face (probably thinking I was lost).  I place a quick call to assure her that I know where I am going . . . I am on a mission to capture fall!

look around you, and prepare to be amazed by what you see.

  1. We just don't have this color show in the deep south. Love those colors. It's hard not to want to capture them. Thanks for the sample.
