I love haikus and yours has inspired me to write a couple about things I saw on my hikes as well. Roadrunners are as camouflaged as your toad-only visible if they are moving. :)
The photo-haiku! What a capture in words and images. THIS reminds me: my mom gave me "island," by Kristen Lindquist, a little collection of haiku poems about Monhegan Island in Maine. I just retrieved it. (I had tucked the gift away and haven't read it yet!) Tonight's tranquilo reading before bed!
