I particularly like your first takeaway, that by observing our learner, we can help identify what or where they are struggling. By the way, I am having a difficult time with Google Hangout, as well. I normally attach new tech stuff but, for some reason, I'm really afraid of Google Hangout! I will have to give it a trial-an-error effort :-)Renaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03112158778877078093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-887210982915389572.post-46174909926248091702014-08-13T20:15:18.544-04:002014-08-13T20:15:18.544-04:00Such good reminders. It's hard to learn when you don't know what you don't know! An important lesson for all of us. Also, I love "the long way". Too funny! Your focus on learning by doing and purpose-driven learning makes me reflect on just how often I provide enough classtime to do and enough freedom for students to develop their own purposes.Elisabeth Ellingtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00747914394861199796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-887210982915389572.post-10765987119661231232014-08-13T09:32:37.253-04:002014-08-13T09:32:37.253-04:00Loved hearing this. And I don't like when teachers say, "do you understand?" & the student nods. It's then time to let them practice, as you say, before you assume they know. I know there are so many tricks on the phone, but how does one learn them, since they don't come with manuals anymore?elsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01348895330633879894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-887210982915389572.post-87312500128261916182014-08-13T00:55:42.628-04:002014-08-13T00:55:42.628-04:00"Future Learning Opportunity" and "..."Future Learning Opportunity" and "The Long Way" are phrases I will remember as I start to think about heading back into the classroom for another year of fun.Kristi Lonheimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16541224246393137201noreply@blogger.com
