This conversation does not rely on my recall. It's quoted word for word because it's on a video I made last Wednesday as Jack (my almost twenty-six month old grandson) and I played outside on a beautiful, sunny afternoon. I wish you could "hear" the conversation, but I've never been successful at adding sound to my blog posts. Grandma's dialogue is blue because I'm always cold. And Jack's dialogue is red because he reassured me more than once that he wasn't cold.
"Are you cold?"
"Nope."
"Nope? Are you sure?
"Yeah, nope!"
(Screen shot from the video,
right after he said, "Yeah, nope!")
"Grandma's cold. How can you not be cold?"
"Nope."
"Nope. Just warm. Say warm through and through, Grandma."
"I . . . I got a sweater on."
"You have a sweater on?"
"Yeah."
"You just have a shirt on. I don't think that's a sweater."
"That's a warm shirt!"
"Is it a warm shirt?"
"Yeah."
"Okay."
With negotiation skills like this, Grandpa says we may have an attorney-in-the-making.
Awe! So sweet! I like his definition of sweater - a WARM shirt!
ReplyDeleteYeah, nope! Classic! He's so adorable, Ramona... how do you stand it? xo
ReplyDeleteVery sweet. I think though kids have a different thermostats.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jack is so sweet! Hoping he can share some of his warmth with you!
ReplyDeleteHe is growing so quickly! And adorable too!
ReplyDeleteLove the negotiating and the confidence that he is not cold!
ReplyDeleteMighty cute for an attorney...
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie! I'll bet he's warm because of all the hugs you give him! :-) ~JudyK
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like the conversations I have with my son! He's never cold! But he's not quite as articulate as your little guy!
