An itty-bitty haiku slice compensates for yesterday's too-long, whole pie slice!
Sheltering in place
Grandma and Grandpa stay home
FaceTime story time!
We haven't watched the grand boys for two weeks, but novel coronavirus times call for new traditions. At our house, that means story time with Grandpa filming (with the occasional Elmo or Cookie Monster puppet popping in) and Grandma reading. Here's the couch full of books we read last week!
I'm still doing some childcare but also doing story time with the other grandchildren. I do love the challenge of a good book - but I have to film myself!
ReplyDeleteRamona, I listened in on a Google Hangouts story time with Sierra and her Mommy. It was delightful listening to the tale while watching Sierra totally fascinated by the story. Even little Aurora was involved. Grandparent time is a time of joy no matter which way we have to spend with our little ones. Your haiku holds the significant words for NYS-Sheltering in Place.
ReplyDeleteLove your haiku and I love your new coronavirus tradition as grandparents, virtual read-alouds! We are finding good new ways to connect.
ReplyDeleteI loe this! Much better than watching strangers read to the children. It's lovely that you have such a collection to choose from at your house.
ReplyDeleteYour Haiku takes us from the serious to the whimsical. What a great way to spend this time with your grandkids! Love the book selection...so awesome! Glad you finally were able to get this posted today. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is Lanny, by the way!
DeleteI love that we have technology to connect us w/ grandkids and that grandparents are using it to read stories to the littles. Adding puppets sounds fun.
ReplyDeletePosts with Haiku are the best! It's lovely! And I love that you are still connecting with your grandchildren. They are fortunate to have you!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a lovely tradition!!!! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collaboration, Grandma and Grandpa! Keeping the family ties strong. 📚❤️
