 I opened my box of words, 

fiddled around for awhile, 

and this poem found me!


Retreat for the Overwhelmed

Welcome songs

Collect tales

Renew silly

Get cozy

Go to bed

Restore your rhythm

Find delight

Be okay

    I, too, am in love with "renew silly!" And your ending is just right. There's nothing more important we can do in trying to "restore [y]our rhythm" than "Be okay."

    Oh, I love this poem. Playing with cut out words is one of my favorite things to do. I never tire of it. It's hard to choose a favorite line...but I hope to "be okay" in 2022 more than in previous years.

    Ramona, the strangest thing happened. I added my response to your lovely post when on my iphone and it will not take. So I will have to add the task of calling Apple to my overwhelmed list. (LOL)
    I can definitely see you "clearing" time and space for you to be silly with the grandkids. I enjoyed your mini-retreat and will remember a few lines like be okay as i restore my great room from the holiday season. A retreat for the overhelmed me sounds like an ideal plan. I am sending your poem to a friend who can use the advice. You not only created a poem for you but for others.

    I spent hours cutting out words and pictures as a teenager. It's probably time to return to that fun practice! Your words inspire! Happy New Year, Ramona!

    Love the idea of a box of words. It reminds me of Donovan's Word Jar. Thanks for the reminder of how much fun it is to play with words like that. I especially liked "Find delight" since my OLW is Enjoy.
