Today I join my fellow bloggers in "serving up a slice"
to the March Slice of Life Story Challenge community.
Thanks to Stacey, Betsy, Beth, Kathleen, Deb, Melanie, and Lanny
for hosting this meeting place each day in March
and for nurturing our writing lives.
1. Tuesday's poetry blitz was delightful. Our after school book club posted poems all over the school. We are READY for April!
2. Wednesday's emergency preparedness meeting reminds me that I have much to do if we are to be self sufficient for seven days when we have an earthquake.
3. Grandson Teddy and family played in the snow yesterday in Virginia. Grandpa and Teddy love sending each other videos.

4. There's nothing better than watching Jack and his mama play together before she leaves for work. It's always a giggle fest.
5. Normally I don't watch Jack on Thursday except for once a month when his mom's schedule changes. If you want to experience pure pleasure, try hanging out with a little guy on trash day and listening for the garbage truck.

6. Grandpa was SO ready for Jack to wake up after a two hour nap. I'm not sure who enjoys being together more - Grandpa or Jack!
7. Rain returned today after several days of sun. That's okay, because the sun is trying to peek through the clouds this afternoon.

8. My daughter's latest quilting project is gorgeous!
9. I'm excited to read Roz Chast's graphic novel & memoir, Can't we talk about something more pleasant? It's the choice for Island Books book club meeting next week.
10. Thanks to fellow blogger, Jone MacCulloch, for the inspiration for today's post.
A giggle fest - there is nothing like a child's deep belly laugh! #8 makes me miss my own quilting days. I hope you share her project some day!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading a list slice! I love that graphic novel memoir by Roz Chast, but it's at times a very tough read. I had the interesting experience of reading it with college students, and it was fascinating to see what 20-yr olds made of it, what it got them thinking about.
ReplyDeleteLittle guy on trash day... that’s cute! You have to love seeing kids get so excited d by ordinary things.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to read your list! It makes me smile to think about Grandpa and Jack - love hearing about this relationship!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your list--hadn't thought of this technique. I will tuck it away in my writer's notebook! (By the way, I love Barry Lane!!)
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the mention of the trash truck. My Clara (3 yr. old) loves the trash truck. She sits and watches until he leaves, then waves bye. I am envious of anyone who can quilt. Sewing is not in my genes.
ReplyDeleteI love the "Ten Things list." I've added Roz Chast's book to my Books I Want to Read List.
ReplyDeleteI want to see that quilt! :) Off to check out Roz Chast's book.. thank you! xo
