A recent prompt from my writing group asked us to look at our camera roll from ten years ago and select a photo as a writing prompt. I decided to use this idea beginning with my first year of participating in the slice of life writing challenge in 2012 and limiting the photo choice to March of that year. Today's post does double duty with a haiku for Poetry Friday. Thanks to Karen for hosting and for her poem, "One Way to Live".
Rain kissed daffodils
Ebullient dancers of spring
Harbingers of hope

Thank
you, Two Writing Teachers, for creating this challenge and providing the
space and support for us year after year. And thanks to this magnificent
community for sharing stories with me and encouraging my writing life.
I can’t wait for the first blooms of spring. We haven’t even seen snowdrops yet. Your haiku is like more than a hope, it’s a promise for the spring to arrive. Terje
ReplyDeleteYour haiku and picture bring hope on this rainy day in Pennsylvania!
ReplyDeleteDaffodils are such a welcome sign of spring. When I went out for the mail yesterday, I noticed that ours were up about an inch. Can't wait until they bloom. Bob
ReplyDeleteHarbingers of hope are everywhere, Ramona, and thanks for the reminder to look for and appreciate them!
ReplyDeleteOoh -- I was reflecting on "harbingers of hope" just last week! Love it when "the universe calls"!
ReplyDeleteMight have to use that as a strike line now!
This is such a great idea, I'm going to use it for this weekend's post Ameliasb
ReplyDeleteI celebrated our "harbingers of hope! today, too, Ramona, hoping it will move it toward the lovely picture you shared!
ReplyDeleteYes to harbingers of hope! Thanks, Ramona.

ReplyDeleteDaffodils definitely bring the hope of Spring! So well written! Ebullient- what a word!
I can hardly wait to see the daffodils and crocuses push through the cold earth. There is a place in Massachusetts where the woods are thick with yellow daffodils in the spring. I may have to get there this year. Thanks for the reminder of spring.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a gift to my future self (which is now my right-now self) when I planted all those bulbs last fall! Some of the new crocuses are blooming and lots of daffies are poking up through the mud.
ReplyDeleteIn my Michigan yard those harbingers of hope are just starting to poke their green blades up. Eagerly anticipating the dancers.
