I love how my writer friends influence my life for good. A post from Tara that mentioned Jane Kenyon's poetry led me to request several books of her poetry from the library. I discovered

I'm participating in the festivities of poetry month by allowing myself to be me. I may or may not post every day. I don't have a theme. But I will show up most days to share a favorite poem or book or link to a poetic post I loved. And I'll be sharing poetry all month long with Books, Brownies, and Beyond. This week we'll wander through the school to post poems everywhere. I'm subbing half a day later in the month for a friend and asked if I could "do poetry" with her students. She said, "Yes!"

Jack and his parents and friend Sara will be here soon to join us for comfy church on Saturday. It's General Conference weekend, a twice yearly tradition, when we attend church from home as we watch the leaders of our church share inspirational messages. Many of the best talks are centered around story. It's always a call to "try a little harder to be a little better." And we're having waffles with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries during the break between sessions!

The Teddy and Jack pics for the week feature my boys outside with their dads. Teddy was at the park with his parents and Jack and his parents were at the University of Washington (with half of the Seattle population) to see the cherry trees in bloom on a rare sunny afternoon. Jack weighed in at 13 lbs. 5 oz. for his 2 month check.
