Thinking of the piles to go before I sleep!

Today I join my fellow bloggers in "serving up a slice" to the Tuesday Slice of Life sponsored by Stacey and Ruth from Two Writing Teachers.

Inspired by GirlGriot earlier this spring, I return to the arun form of poetry for a quick reflection.  It's a fifteen-line poem in three sets of five lines. Each set of five lines follows the same syllable structure: starting with one syllable and increasing by one (1/2/3/4/5 — 3x).

Last
weekend
a quick trip
to celebrate
son's graduation.

I
returned
from the East
coast to the West
coast in four short hours.

I
wish that
four short hours
could conquer my
to be graded piles.

  1. I hear you loud and clear. But this is something I remind myself of at this time of the school year...it ALWAYS gets done. :) You were there for your son's big day and that is worth celebrating.

  2. I was searching for a form to use for my post this week. This would have served me well - as it did you.

  3. LOL! I can totally relate. I think time is such a funny thing. When we're enjoying something it goes really fast. When we're dreading something then it's S - L - O - W and it feels like we'll never get done. At the same time, I've learned that all I have to do to conquer this mind set is to sit down and get it done! Good luck and congratulations!

  5. Isn't is amazing how we can cross time and space with such amazing speed and yet what takes up space in our lives takes so much time!
