Bring on the Confetti!

So excited to join Saturday Celebrations with Ruth Ayres!
It is fun to live my week thinking about what I will celebrate on Saturday.
Discover. Play. Build.
A week filled with moments to celebrate and remember!
1.  I finished Georgia's Bones by Jen Bryant.
Someone recommended it in August on Picture Book 10 for 10.
I requested it from the library, and now I have to buy my own copy.
The exquisite illustrations by Bethanne Anderson will remind you of Georgia's gorgeous art.
2.  I finished Brown Girl Dreaming
"...How can I explain to anyone that stories
are like air to me,
I breathe them in and let them out
over and over again..."
I love these words and I love this book.
Thank you Jacqueline Woodson!

3.  I found this favorite bookmark which had been lost in one of my books.
Read Like A Child
Revisit innocence and
replenish yourself
with flights of fancy
You bring the milk
I'll bring the cookies

 4.  Anne picked me up for moon watching on Wednesday evening.
Alexa joined me for "moon watch" on Thursday night.

The pics don't do justice to the beauty we observed, but they recall the splendor of
two evenings spent with dear friends.

5.  My daughter and son-in-law are coming back to the Northwest!
He accepted a job (that doesn't begin until July).
I've known this for awhile, but couldn't share it at first
and just realized that I'd never celebrated it with my blogger friends.
Every day is a celebration as I remember that they will be here in June!

  1. The joy in your last words sparks like fireworks. Finding a lost bookmark always brings a smile. I got a book from our school library last week and found a bookmark from last year. I was glad no one had taken it out. Have a wonderful next week!

  2. We are so excited to head back to Seattle in just a short number of months! Thanks for the shout out on the blog! Love you Mom!

  3. Wow, such wonderful things to celebrate, Ramona. So happy to hear about your daughter and son-in-law. I see that her name is Sara; my daughter's name is Sarah! Love hearing about the books, the sharing that you breathe in the stories, Ramona, a beautiful thought!

  4. Happy news to have your daughter and son-in-law near, soon! I could only wish for something like that. So many good books, now you've time to do them justice, then share. Happy week Ramona!

  5. So glad you liked Georgia's Bones! I think it was on my list... Very strong story about O'Keeffe. I'm nearly finished with Brown Girl Dreaming and loving it. Gorgeous moon photos! So happy to hear your daughter and son-in-law are moving back to the Northwest. It's wonderful to have family nearby.

  6. Lovely celebrations - some important books and the promise of more time with family. :-)

  7. The moon pictures might not do justice to the scene in front of our eyes that night, but they did allow my to conjure it up in my mind. Thanks! Glad you were willing to go out that night on a lark.

  8. Thank you for sharing these celebrations. Good books, something lost found, time with friends enjoying God's creation and the promise of a family reunion are all heart delights.
