SOLSC #7: A Promise Kept

Today I join my fellow bloggers in
"serving up a slice" to the March SOLSC
sponsored by Two Writing Teachers.
I'm the only snowman of the bunch who ever ventures beyond this house.  This year I perched in the window of room 104 watching over Newbery titles and a room full of tweens - that wonderful combination of humans on the cusp between childhood and the teen world.  They giggle, they write stories, they share their thinking, they tussle, and they pat me on the head (yep, even 12 year old boys like stuffed snowmen).  On Tuesday they delivered me to Mrs. B. so she could keep her promise to friends who are overtired of winter this year.  Usually, I get to stay out until the first day of spring.  But this year,  I'm leaving early.  Hope this works.  See you in November!

  1. Cute snowman - but, yes, time to put him away - we're ready for Spring.

  2. I still have a pillow with snowmen on the front-will keep it out a while, but perhaps it brought our snow today? Bye, bye snowmen!

  3. Fun to hear the snowman speak... and you gotta love 12 year old boys who pat the snowman!

  4. Ut-oh little snowman I am worried for your safety if it gets out you were the one prolonging the nasty winter weather this year. Might be a good thing that you are going into hiding. :)

    1. I can't wait to show this comment to my students. I left this post with my sub on Friday as an example of how to write a slice using a different voice. I love that you spoke to my snowman!
