The pictures are awesome, especially that final one, and the recipe for story time is beautifully done. It looks like you had a marvelous day, Ramona.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! What are your favorite books of the bunch?
ReplyDeleteOh Kristi, it's so hard to pick. I love Jane Ray's The Story of Christmas, beautiful illustrations with the King James version of the Christmas story. We always read Tomie dePaola's pop-up book, The First Christmas, as a family. My new favorite is Manger, a Lee Bennet Hopkins anthology of poems written from the perspective of the animals. I'll Be Home for Christmas by Holly Hobbie captures perfectly that longing we all have to be with family and friends this time of year. Yesterday we sang our way through Bruce Whatley's illustrated version of Here Comes Santa Claus. And I must add B is for Bethlehem by Isabel Wilner and beautifully illustrated by Elisa Kleven. And that just scratches the surface because the books on the table are just "some" of my collection.
DeleteLOVE that last photograph, Ramona - that is the joy of this season!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect afternoon! Thanks for sharing it with us, Ramona!
