Thanks to Stacey, Tara, Betsy, Dana, Beth, and Anna
for hosting this meeting place each day in March
and for nurturing our writing lives.
Inspired by smcnich's Lucky 13 post, I wanted to make a list of thirteen somethings for yesterday's post. (But when our windstorm arrived, a weekend race theme emerged for Sunday's post.) Sometimes I think my "friends" question my sanity when I talk about my "virtual friends." But you're a big part of my life! So for March 14th, I created a list of 14 ways that I connect with my friends who blog:
- Uncovering personality quirks. (Fellow pilers & Downton Abby addicts)
- Reading a book just because one of you highly recommended it.
- Discovering that we are from the same time zone. (Hello PST bloggers!)
- Supporting each other through the rough times (professionally & personally).
- Allowing myself to be cajoled into challenging water (April's progressive poem).
- Feeling thrilled to share a similar grade level.
- Recognizing that every stage in life is a time to cherish.
- Chuckling when I read a post that delights me.
- Crying when I read a post that tugs at my heartstrings.
- Sharing classroom triumphs & challenges and personal highs & lows.
- Recalling slices that will forever remind me of you.
- Noting our obsessive love of conferences, books, pens, and notebooks.
- Mentoring my writing life by walking this road together.
- Meeting you in person at conferences! (All Write, NCTE, WWUCLC)
What a wonderful list! Blogger friends are precious.
ReplyDeleteYES to all of these things, Ramona! So glad to share a few in common with you.
ReplyDeleteThese connections run strong. I can't imagine my life without my virtual friends that have become face-to-face friends.
ReplyDeleteA second "yes" to all of that - but I love #13 best. So very true for this writing community.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you to make this list. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll always cherish our time together, Ramona, & never forget our "wandering" time, so much fun! Thank you for this, a sweet thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, and yes. But numbers 1 and 14 hit close to home for me! Fellow pile-ers unite!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post. I remember how glad I was to finally meet you at NCTE.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time slicing, and I am enjoying making new connections.
ReplyDeleteYour list makes me happy! I love this community! I hope that I will get to meet you at a future conference. Maybe NCTE in the fall?
