SOLC 26/31: Bookending My Week with A Stroller & A Tribute

Today I join my fellow bloggers in "serving up a slice"
to the Slice of Life (SOL) community.
Thanks to Stacey, Tara, Betsy, Dana, Beth, and Anna
for hosting this meeting place each day in March
and for nurturing our writing lives.

Join us each weekend for Celebrate This Week with Ruth Ayres.
When we pause to celebrate, we find the joy.
Discover. Play. Build.
A week filled with moments to celebrate and remember

Imi's mom gave me this stroller, fulfilling item #1
on my grandmother-to-be equipment list.  It's time to
get serious about my list. Little one arrives in June!
Baby bump!
Special drive to see Passey's tree!
Tulip tree close-up!
Mother and daughter fun - baking and decorating for Easter!
A walk to savor Friday's blue sky!
I'm not sure how I missed that Gloria Houston died on Monday, but I spotted this tribute to her posted on FB last night.  The world of children's books has lost a wonderful friend, but I celebrate her contributions.  Her picture books are precious to me - My Great-Aunt Arizona (my mother taught in a one room schoolhouse during WW II), The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree, and Miss Dorothy and Her Bookmobile (which I just discovered last fall).

  1. Love all the pictures that add to your slice - how exciting to become a grandmother! I will have to look into Gloria Houston's books - she's new to me.

  2. Being a grandma is such a delight. You will rock the role! Gorgeous trees! Tulip trees in our area usually suffer the wrath of low temps and never get into full bloom glory. So sad about Gloria Houston.

  3. Hi Grandmother-to-be. Your getting ready makes me smile! I just gave my pac-n-play to my daughter who passed it on to a friend. It was rather sad to say goodbye. I don't expect more babies to come my way. Thanks for the flower pictures, so lovely. Have a wonderful Easter with your family.

  4. Look at that baby bump! Such an exciting time with little ones on the way!

  5. So wonderful to be preparing for a new family member. :)

  6. Congratulations Ramona! Your week has been full of wonderful things to celebrate. I love all the images. :)

  7. You will be a wonderful grandma! How exciting for all of you! Have a glorious Easter!

  8. What exciting news, Ramona. Easter must have been a glorious tribute of thanksgiving this year.
