SOL 23/31: Rome in Three Days! Days 2, 3 & 4

Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday - February 10-12, 2019

Our tour guide told us over and over that we would need to come back again . . . that our tour was a "taste" and we would want more. He was so right! Every time I try to write this post, I get lost in my pictures and memories. Come along for a pictorial stroll through my three days in Rome (not in chronological order).

First, some pics of outdoor structures.
 I love ancient arches!
The Colosseum
Started in AD 70, inaugural contest in AD 80
(Don't you love the bird in flight?)

The tour of the Colosseum was over and I was at the tail end of our group. I needed to hustle. But I yearned to linger and watch this den meeting in the shadow of the Colosseum.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Our tour group was thrilled to attend the open house of the Rome temple before it was dedicated.

At the end of our second day,
we finally get our first (but not our last) gelato!

  1. Isn't it wonderful that we can take instant pictures and then we can store them easily and share as easily?

    1. It's incredible, especially since I raised my children in the day of Fox Photo, a 24 hour developing service. I shudder to think of how much money I spent on photos.

  2. Amazing photos! Thank you for "taking us with you!"

  3. Wow what a great trip! Looks like you had lots of fun! Glad it was a good time!

  4. Yep, I remember how much I loved Rome but once was enough for me.. now Thailand... I'd like to get right back there... love these pics, Ramona

  5. Your photos are gorgeous. What a lovely vacation.

  6. Love your photos! Hope you get to go back one day soon!

  7. You certainly packed a LOT into just a few days, Your photo journal is amazing.

  8. This makes me want to head back to Italy. Thanks for sharing these photos!

  9. These photographs are wonderful. You definitely make me want to go there. When did you do this?

    1. Carol, just last month. Because I did a terrible job of writing while I was on the trip, I'm trying to do a photo blog post of the three major places we visited. One down, two to go. I'm not sure that I'll finish during the challenge, but I have a goal to finish by the 18th of April (two months after our return).

  10. Breathtaking! What an amazing trip, Ramona. So glad you were able to go and share all these amazing moments and images with all of us.

  11. Brilliant photos, Michelangelo, what an artist, unbelievable skill, thanks for letting us 'accompany' you!

  12. Wow! What an amazing time - so cool that you could be in such a beautiful spot while sharing with fun travel buddies.
And loved that you shared the last one in the 'shadow of the Colosseum'
