SOL 2/31: The New Learning Technology Blues

Returning for year nine of writing daily in March with my slice of life writer friends! Check out Two Writing Teachers for more slices of life occurring every day in March.

Just home from a family history
and technology conference.
Excitement bubbling over,
eager to share my new learning.

Asked a young family at church
to let me test drive and share
the Memories app with them.
Epic fail!

Somehow what seemed easy there
wasn't so easy here.
Back to the practice board for me.
Thank goodness I brought cookies!

  1. Cookies will do it every time! Thanks for sharing a slice that may not have been perfect and we can ALL connect with.

  2. Oh, technology! It’s so fickle!

  3. I can relate to this moment when doing something in the presence of experts and helping hands is easy and then trying it on my own is anything but.

  4. I struggle with technology! Getting going with this blog was even a bit of a challenge!

  5. Ramona, that conference sounds interesting. I also encountered tech problems today while teaching a PD session on the integration of technology into literacy classrooms. At one point I said to the teachers, "We've all been there with tech glitches."

  6. My students understand the word ‘persnickety’ due to the fickle nature of our Smartboard. Good thing you brought cookies as backup!

  7. You sound just like me. I really want to be tech savvy. I work hard at it. My district has a conference almost every summer and I attend faithfully. I learn all these new tools. I think I understand. I get home and try them. Usually it's EPIC fail!!!! So disappointing! I hope you figure it out!

  8. You're brave to try so many new tech things! Despite the fact that I teach one tech-based class, I have so many epic tech fails!
