SOL 17/31 & Poetry Friday: Serendipity!

My pot of gold (not at the end of the rainbow) had flecks of red and green and was edible.

Costco run completed.

I shift items in freezer

and uncover buried treasure,

two monster cookies!

Red and green M&Ms reveal

a December provenance.

Three months later,

the sweet taste of Christmas lingers.

This is my eleventh year of participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge. This year I'll be mining my memories for stories to share.

Sometimes, I participate in Poetry Friday. Our host for this week is Ruth who blogs at There is no such thing as a God-forsaken town.

  1. Thoughtful, yummy, and amusing! Your cookies made for a perfect slice!

  2. Ramona, oh the delight of finding a yummy treat.
When I freeze my homemade cookies right away they last a long tie as long as big hands don't touch them. A tasty blessing came your way on St. Paddy's Day!

  3. You munching on monster cookies forms a joyful image in my mind.

  4. That sounds much better than any green treat for St. Patty's day. Enjoy your monster cookie!

  5. I like that ending! Tastebud memories :)

  6. "a December provenance" --- brilliant! (and now I want a cookie...)

  7. Nice to have that 'sweet taste' memory, Ramona. A good crunch, too!

  8. How great is that? I hope they were as delicious as they looked!

  9. I really want a cookie now! Love how you defined them as a treasure!

  10. HA! Maybe I should organize the freezer and see what gifts from the past I find!!!

  11. What a find! I, too, now wonder what's in my freezer!

  12. I am laughing outloud at your joy in discovering a frozen treat! This past week, I returned to our cabin and found white chocolate toffees that, by some miracle, did not get consumed when we were last here!
