Celebrate!
SOLSC #8 - Slice of Life is sponsored every Tuesday by Stacey and Ruth
from Two Writing Teachers. For the month of March, I've joined the challenge to post a slice of life daily.
Today is a winning day for Elsie and me!

A giant thank you this morning to all of the bloggers supporting me on this brand new journey. It was tough to pick just one fellow blogger from those who had commented on my fledgling posts. Please know that each and every comment is cherished by me! It makes me realize the power of encouragement for my student writers.
Somehow, this is turning out to be my lucky month. While the random number generator selected me for this honor, I must give credit to my sixth grade students who encouraged me to "take the leap" when I shared the Slice of Life Challenge with them on February 29. My other lucky event this month also came from the blogosphere. The Mixed-up Middle Grade Authors blog selected me (with the random number generator once again) as a winner for the Skype tour bus author visit. Katherine Schlick Noe will visit my classroom to discuss her debut novel, Something to Hold, with my students.
Addtional events to celebrate this month:
My brave students who will participate this afternoon in the school-wide spelling bee!
My yearly book club retreat this weekend!
A visit from my daughter and son-in-law near the end of the month!
And of course, Spring Break which begins on March 31!

You do have a lot to celebrate! And I can't say THANK YOU loud enough. Can you hear me? I am overwhelmed by the kind words of all! I looked up the DVD to see the content and as my son would say "I am stoked!" I've had a smile on my face all day and anyone that comes in contact has to hear about my great fortune. It is all due to you! THANK YOU again and again! Woo hoo!
