SOL 26/31 and Poetry Friday: It's Friday Fun Time!

An arun is a fifteen-line poem in three sets of five lines. Each set of five lines follows the same syllable structure: starting with one syllable and increasing by one (1/2/3/4/5 — 3x).

Fellow slicer, GirlGriot (Stacie), created the arun for her National Poetry Month Challenge in 2013. Check out her niece's birthday arun. You can see my inaugural attempt here. Today's arun celebrates Friday fun at our house.

Head over to Soul Blossom Living
for this week's roundup of poetic goodness.
Thanks, Susan, for hosting this week.

  1. They were both so exited to come today! Thanks for having them for the day!

  2. I remember the introduction of this form by GirlGriot and have written aruns, too. This one is so heartfelt!

  3. Love these thumbnail poems... you inspire me to try! Thanks so much...

  4. I love this! Such lovely snapshots of your grandsons! And your husband! You make me want to try an arun!

  5. Oh, that's cool! Your poem makes me want to give this a try. I love your photo illustrations -- especially the Grandpa snuggling for stories. What a great post!

  6. Always wonderful to see what's going on at your house with the grands, Ramona! And poems that capture it are really special!

  7. Ramona, they've grown so much. I hope you had a delightful visit. It looks like you did. I enjoyed learning a bit about your grandsons.

  8. Hi Ramona,
As another eager grandma I can totally relate to your poem and photos. Our littles are a girl 5 and a boy 2 1/2 whose person is Grandpa. So glad to hear about this arun form. I am going to be sure to save your post for the future!! have not been around for a while but thrilled to visit today.
